don't mess with your tire pressure. I haven't seen a large enough improvement on stock tire. Besides they are not designed for best contact patches at low PSI.
As for the clutch that is correct. You will use the brake to pre-stage, first yellow. and then use the clutch to inch your way to the second beam. then tap the brakes to stop you from rolling and then get your RPMs back up. Just take your time and reaction time has nothing to do with 1/4 mile time.
