Ok I suck at driving

My best was 14.85 @ 96. Most runs where 15.3x @ 90s something. Lots of wheel hop. One run i burnt the clutch pretty good. This fwd stuff is for the birds.

1/4 mile runs in a FWD car is very challengine with street tires. It gets harder and harder the faster your car is. Check out Tofu's 1/4 mile guide in the "How-To" section of this forum for some helpful tips on how to get better e.t.'s.

Stop dumping the clutch, the p-zero's melt when you pedal the throttle alone! Try launching like you would in normal driving and then ease into the throttle. That gets me a 14.6 everytime!

yea...I've yet to take a FWD car to the track, my last car was AWD so the launches weren't bad. I'm going this Friday to take it to Englishtown to try and nail down a good launch. I'll post up my results and any tips/advice I can give.

Ive always eased into it, and I pull 14.3's. I am going to try going a little more hardcore on my lauches this friday see if I can get that to 13's with stage 1. I am hoping for it. The last 2 times ive been to the track I've eased into it but I think I eased too long.

I practiced it over the last few days and think I got the launch down. As long as I dont get nervous at the light I should do much better then the last few times.

Basically take it up to about 1k RPM. As the last yellow light hits you come off the clutch and compensate with putting the gas peddle down, as the clutch fully connects quickly put the gas peddle to the floor and just go. I did this quite a few times and get just enough to chirp my wheels and then stick perfectly through the rest of first. Uuually as I get up to 5-6.5 K in first I start to lose grip but as of me shifting into second I chirp and then smooth accell from their all the way to the end of the 1/4 mile.

one thing that I noticed last time I ran was that my 2.2L comes off the line faster than the SS/SC... once were outside that first 50 or so feet, it was all SS! It's hard as hell to launch on street tires... I tried EVERYTHING!! Even dropping pressure to about 19-20psi! Spin city.
