Planning on going to Cecil this wed 5/03 anyone else?
I'm going to cecil county raceway this wed. 5/3/06 and i was wondering if any other cobalts might come down and chill or whatever. I'm bringing a friend and my gf but it'd be cool to have some other cobalts out there too. This will be my first time at the track since I got my stage 2 and I'm praying for high 13s but expecting low 14s anyway wish me luck and join me if you're down.
I'm going to try to get off work a 1/2 day so I can go. I want to try for 12.9- .
I'm trying to prove a point to a member on my Subaru forum that its possible to run 12's for less then 1,500 bucks in the 06 wrx.....
Only problem is, its a little warmer then it was when I ran 13.0. But I dont care I'm gonna try anyway.
So keep an eye out for a lowered Blue 06 WRX. I'll have the stock wheels on since they weigh less then my gold rotas. I also have aftermarket exhaust obviously so its pretty loud

If I can make it I hope to see you up there...

alright.. i didnt do so great but i'm glad i did better, i cant wait for my intake and more track time to practice. I only got 3 runs in 1st run I got a lot of wheel hop and i didnt know if i missed 2nd or not so it was a kind of delayed shift but it was my best time here's the stuff:

R/T .248
60' 2.293
330' 6.232
1/8th 9.322
MPH 79.43
1000 11.962
1/4 14.159
MPH 103.31
2nd Run(I missed 3rd):
R/T .389
60' 2.224
1/8 9.171
MPH 74.34
1/4 14.228
MPH 100.13
3rd Run(Bad wheel hop):
R/T .375
60' 2.256
1/8 9.285
MPH 78.82
1/4 14.164
MPH 102.43

Not bad times!
ooh I see that is with stage 2.... Work on your launches! That is the key to a good run. I ran my 14.2 with just an intake. I have a Torque brace now so I hope I can do a 14 flat with no more engine mods. It is all in the driver! Learn how to drive that stage 2 and you should be a low 13

Yeah my intake is on its way, fed-ex says it'll be here the 6th, and i think my next mod will be an ingalls torque dampner. I think that should help my launches, I get such bad wheel hop that it messes my whole game up. On the street I kick have no problem with launches or anything, i think the sticky track doesnt help. I need more track time. Once I get more money saved up I want to get a clutch and that weapon r race header. I will be in low 13s with out a problem. I hoping then my bad time will be a mid 13.
when going out of first i figured that if you dont rev the engine youll launch better
i basically rev it like im bout to go from a light, so as soon as im in gear i floor it, i usually get wheel hop up top but i shift before hand
and that 103 trap speed is promising i have I/E/H plus stage 2 now and im buying the ingalls brace i had a 14.2 @101 with a 2.4 60ft so if i can get my 60 ft down to 2.1 and in conjunction with stage 2 i should be low/mid 13's

yeah i never rev it much, usually around 1800 when i leave the tree, on the street i usually let out the clutch easy and get a lot less wheelspin/hop but at the track my tires grip so fast and i get wheel hop so bad. eh i just need to keep practicing
