Angry had a shameful night at the track - boohoooooo!!!!

yeah, opening night of the season
new track, they resurfaced it over the winter
cars were slippin and slidin all over the place tho
the guys were sayin that the track was 'green', no rubber on it yet.
and it was a cold damp chilly night, they shut it down around 1045pm for safety reasons.

huge turnout though! everyone was itching to run
lots of cars from WA showed up
and there were plenty of cars making fast runs

my best run for the eve happened early, a 14.6 at 98.22
progressively got worse as the night went on, moved into the 15's hah!
trapped 98's all eve, just couldn't get out of the hole.

pretty sad, i did better than 14.6 last year on street tires and no mods.

well i'm sure hoping it's got something to do with the new track
hopefully once some layers of rubber build up it will stick
just couldn't get the power on the ground

my funny for the eve was I had to figure out how to warm up these new drag tires i got, and i've never done a burnout before, but i figured how hard could that be,
so my first two runs i do what i think is a burnout
proud of myself too!
get back to the pits and check out the tires
damn! the stickers are still on em!!!
haha!!

third run i gave em a better roasting - filled my cockpit with smoke, couldn't see or breathe for a few mins
haha!

****! still a bit of sticker there!

well, finally got rid of the stickers after the fourth run.

but geez, zero traction
slipping and sliding all over the place
my car kept sliding to the right
is that cuz I don't have an lsd??

i also found it very startling to be zoomin down the track getting into the upper rpms of 2nd gear and losing traction again and again!
man!

the good news for this season is zero wheel hop
not a trace of it
the combination of engine mount, tranny mount, engine torque dampener, and tires has eliminated the wheel hop completely at the track

same kinda thing happened to me and my buddy one night at the track we go to. we got there when it was warm in the late afternoon but it was supposed to be really cold at night--and it got cold quick. we went from running 14.1-14.2's all afternoon to 15.6's five runs in a row. this was before my cobalt, in my 350Z and he had a supercharged solara.

wow, sucks that you kept losing traction with such a nice tire. they should have laid some VHT down. That would have helped tremendously.
