Tonight was the first time i had ran at the strip. Took my friend for Vids and pics. Had a blast i wish i wouldve went sooner. Actually managed to beat a SVT Cobra. Wouldve beat a lt1 z28 but my clutch slipped baaad going into third and it was my first run ever. Slips and vids will be up for haters. Also, idk why but im trapping insanely low with a decent 60 foot time? any advice?

I think my 60s were decent for my first time. Have to wait till spring but then ill have TVS 2.7 meth, and other things

listen again, he didnt let off, and his other times were close to the same.

 

i listend a couple times, didnt sound like he let off, seems legit to me. However something is up with those times...he got off the line faster and had a faster trap speed and you finished first? He must have missed 2nd gear...either way a win is a win. Thats how i was able to beat a mustang saleen bushing 481whp.....200whp more then me

how? dont you think if he let off my friend who is a car guy wouldve told me that? Not ran up to me telling me i beat him when i thought he won? I give you slips and a vid, what more proof do you want. You hear his exhaust the entire time.

Idk i didnt even look at my slip i thought i lost, and my friend came up to my car in teh staging lane yelling i got him. I didnt believe him and i looked at my slip and couldnt believe it.

 

umm.. he missed second gear dude.. the car launches like a **** and beat's you outta the whole BAD and you catch him by the end of 2nd.. he missed a gear and the motor was still revving.. tis why it did not sound like he let off..

either way a win is a win....drag racing isnt just about the car...its about the driver + car.

 

well yeah obviously he took the green light. i've taken lights on c6's, all years of gtos, a 406ci elcamino, procharged camaro, etc... doesn't mean i'm faster than all of them though. just means i'm good at .00X lights, that and they may have made a mistake during the run, had trouble with traciton..all sorts of things. and the excuse of "oh well his times all day were right around that" okay cool, still doesn't help anything though, you can make consistant mistakes and have times so close it looks like nothing is wrong. all i'm saying is that i wouldn't go around bragging that you can beat cobras.

especially ones trapping 109 and only hitting 14.5, a 109 trap in a rwd is a mid 12 son.

 

He never bragged that he can beat cobra's. He said he beat that cobra. So i dont know why you are making such a arguement about this. Like i said its not just about the car, its also about the driver.

If you are racing for pinks or racing for money and you missed 2nd gear are you going to say "oh i win because my car is still faster, the fact i missed 2nd doesnt count" No...a win is a win, he beat the cobra...props to him.

 

I saw 2 different Cobras run 12.1s today. Nasty! I ran a 13.8 against one and he put bus-lengths on me.

 

i never bragged about beating one, i said i beat one. The owners face said it all when i pulled out of the park, he wasnt very happy.

that evo 8 was nasty. The second race he gave me atleast 6 cars and still blew by me like i was standing still.

 

ahhh. that cobra should be faster. its obviously not supercharged, but it should run atleast mid to high 13s. guess he cant drive?

That cobra left on you hard and seems like he couldn't get it in 2nd ....then ended up in 3rd or 4th gear........It's lugging and he carries the same gear from about 330 ft to the end

He said he beat the cobra in the vids. There is proof. So what if the guy missed second or didn't. So what if it's not the typical outcome. He's not stating he's faster than most or all cobras. Just the one he raced.

 

thank you. People need to chill the **** out. I just thought it was cool that the first time at the track i beat a cobra that didnt have catastrophic failure. This site gets more ridiculous everyday.
