12sec stock? lol Not all are freaks and it takes driver plus car to = track time... Read my above post and the one right above yours. He just posted "ha, I beat a cobra yesterday" SO WHAT if it wasn't the best time for the cobra, it wasn't the best time possible out of the cobalt either. ****, I beat a porsche the other day. I know not all are slow, but at that instance, I won. So what.
First of all I want to say good job for your first time at the track. My cobalt SS/Sc ran a 14.1 @ 100mph bone stock. I was able to get a best of 13.6 @ 108mph with stage II. Here in the east coast our tracks seem to be a little faster then else where. Thanks to the close to sea level factor. Anyways, I wanted to make a few points. Second of all, there are a lot of people on cobaltss.net that think they know it all. It gets real old reading threads here. Not sure if its just the age group or what.
Lets now separate facts from opinion. None of us really know for sure why the cobra ran slower times then it should of. The point is, the cobalt beat him. Personally I would of been excited myself to win that race. The LT1 ran a faster time then your best for the day. This means you would of not beat the LT1. Yea, you messed up or your clutch had a mechanical failure and slipped. The same could of been said for the Cobra, and he could of said I would of won if this or that. Ifs don't matter in racing, what matters it what time you ran.
Some advice, next time don't worry about what car is next to you. Get staged and take a deep breath. Knock down that 60" to a 2.20 and judging by your best run (14.37 at 100.00 60 ft 2.35) you will improve to ~14.0 1/4th mile time. Play with your tire pressure if you did not your first time. Lower the tire pressure a few psi and dial in the best front tire pressure for the track conditions and temperatures. Good luck!

Please post up your time slip and your 60" time in a cobalt with stock tires. There is not to many people on this board that get 2.0 and 2.1 short times on stock tires. A 2.3 60" short time is great for his first time at the track.
