Thumbs up ran the cobalt at import face off

i didnt do so good but funny thing was neither was anyone else. track prep was pretty bad. anyway

best time:

60ft-- 2.303
1/8et-- 9.22
1/8mph-- 85.3
1/4et-- 13.78
1/4mph-- 106.9

most of my other passes were between 13.9-14.1. i had a VERY hard time hooking up, and shifting from 1-2 was also pretty hard, the car would bog almost every time. my highest trap speed for the day was 108.6. not as fast as i was hoping (i want 110 at least) but it was probably from bad prep and bogging 1-2 shift almost every time.

mods are:
treadstone 3" catless dp
area47 20psi hptune
k&n sri
ottp stage 2 rotated mounts

i was in wichita kansas and it was pretty warm today (for once)

oh yea, i also had a really terrible run where i bogged bad, redlighted, and managed a 16.99@108mph but ill just forget that one happend. i need some more work on the launches and 1-2 shift and i should be golden.

yea. lol. track prep was terrible tho. my buddies evo (dynoed 345whp) couldnt even hit 12's. his best was a 13.09. my friends stage 2 09 sti also only managed low 13's (both had a best of 1.8 60')

i myself beat a 08 modded 350z (stock should be low 13's) and a couple turbo civics (they were trapping 105 tho)

overall i didnt do bad as far as losing races, and i was getting fair races too, not racing slow ass cars. lol. except a stock gsr integra haha.

Weird that you're bogging on the 1-2 shift. That shouldn't happen.

Get drag slicks, this will solve your traction problems.

i think im shifting too early, i, bouncing off the rev limiter from no traction in first, then when i shift to 2nd the rpm drops 2.5k and it takes a second for boost to build up again for some reason.

how are you launching? don't launch it super hard. bring it up to 2,000-3,000rpm and slip the clutch a little out of the hole. use your foot to modulate the throttle and limit tire spin through first, then slam second and go

i think i launched it a little too hard every time. it was nothing but wheel spin, even at 75% throttle. next time i go ill do a lower rpm launch.

You weren't shifting to early If you bogged in first gear you didn't launch high enough. When I ran I went 13.77 at 107.17with 2.313 60' 9.1 1/8 at 84.41. So yeah When I first ran I went 14.5 at 104 bogging down in first launching at 2500 when I went 13.7 I launched at 3200 and that was my best run which was the 13.7 @ 107. My mod k&n sri 23 PSI HPT custom tune, and zzp 3in. downpipe.

the bog came from shifting out of first into second. i shifted out of first too early (still spinning). also, the first pass i did (best pass) i launched at like 4k and spun really bad. lol. im certain i can get a low 13 if i launch lower and dont give it full throttle in 1st.

what was your highest trap? mine was just a **** hair shy of 109. like 108.9 or something

track prep wasnt the best so you have that. i had area47 tune my car, u should see him sometime, hes awesome. im throwing on my ported and polished intake mani and throttle body next week and getting a retune with the new beta thats out for hptuners. i hope i can get around 112 traps after that. well see.

Ditto. Slicks made the difference for me from a 2.2 to 1.9 60ft and 13.5 to 12.9 1/4 ET.

give me time, ill beat it. i had horrible track prep plus it was my first time. also after i get my intake mani and throttle body on it should give me a bit more power, especially with the new hptuners beta out.

With more grip your trap should get better, on crappy track prep days i trap 109, sometimes 110.
On good days when i can get traction in 2nd gear i get a lot of 111 and some 110mph.

Ditto! The hankooks are good for a car with less than 220whp and primarily used for autocross or time attack but horrible for drag racing. They'll snap lose almost instantly.
