NT05R's are perfect for track and street combo use.

Track only I would recommend Hoosier slicks.

Track only, go slicks. They're much stickier than the drag radials and easier on your drivetrain. For street/strip combo, NT555R is a good choice that doesn't wear down so quick. The NT05Rs are stickier than the NT555Rs but they have horrible tread life.

Do this, get two wheels that will fit the NT05r's and slap those on when you hit the streets or track. Problem solved.

the 102 dollar a piece tires i have spin through 1st and maybe 10 feet in second if i nls. or brake boost from a 40 roll. Now the downside is handling isnt that great but i dont roadcourse my car. i wanted acceleration. So i figured 102 a piece wth try them out. And i have sailin atrezzo 24+as 225/40/18 once i wear these out i will go to the 235/40 or possibly 245/40 they run a little small.

i take back the previous post.. after a good warm up you cant spin them on the street. i did a decent 1st gear burnout and couldnt make them spin for nothing. gotta love it

I had them for about a month and would light them up through third. A buddy of mine in his '04 STI would light them up on all 4 wheels through 1st gear. Horrible tire from my experience.

The Dunlop Star Specs I got to replace them were far superior.

right, they spin so much and suck so bad that's why they have some of the best reviews in their class right?
I'd hope that star specs are better, for double the price LOL.

Seriously. I could not hook them at all. I actually only paid $108 a tire for my star specs from Tirerack. The Hankooks cost me much more. For street grip and cornering, the Hankooks were fine but I would blow them off launching from a dig. I was lucky to get traction before the 330ft. 15.50 @ 106mph = fail! I think my best on the Hankooks was a 13.95 @ 105mph. I went 13.42 on the Dunlops. The dunlops were much better in the rain as well and had better tread life. An all around better tire from my experience.
