Yea, I know. So far, we haven't been blessed with the aftermarket you guys have. I know revitup is supposed to have a bunch of stuff getting ready to come out, I would assume that Intense is also. But as far as being stuck in the mid 13's, I think Rob will be there before spring is over. This year should be a great year for the Cobalts.

no no no , the parts ARE there . Thats the frustracting part , these piggy back computers will only effectively tune the PCM so far . When someone on this earth cracks the PCM code so we can tune the damn car it will be a different ballgame .

I have the option of buying a heavily ported stage 3 cylinder head , various stages of cams , bottom end engine parts are avail . ( only thing that needs addressed is the pistons , the rods and crank are forged and strong ) , A swap to a m90 blower could be done . If we could tune , we could work on effectively using alcohol injection to get more timing for more HP/TQ .

As of right now , I would need a stand alone system to do all that . A typical FAST system cost nearly $3K .

Our very sensitive stock PCM's are the big fat DAM in these cars right now . According to a few people , it should be cracked by summer . Then watch out ....it takes stupid stuff and less than $1000 to get damn near 300 wp and even with a piggy back or mafT the stock PCM is still zapping power away .

We will be just fine , hehehe

Either someone takes some action and starts writing to some major companies or you will be stuck in the mid 13's.
If you lived down here Miami I would show you who is gona feel bad for who.

I think this thread has enough fighting in it no need for anymore. He was just making a statement. So I think you are a little out of line with your statement. Just my 2cents

Yeah and no one should ever forget that this car is only TWO DOT ZERO liters of an engine, not 2.4, 3.0, 3.5 or whatever ...

honestly him only running a 13.5 on radials/ slicks scared me a little. Its not the wheel hop maybe its the tall gearing hurting the car. You know i think alot of problems will get solved with a higher rev limit. Thats what hurts me the most is the bogg between 1-2 shifts. I've been spinning the tires instead of hooking just to stop the bog than play with the cltuch to regain traction after i know im back up in my power band again.

Evo's have a 2.0 engine too, and that's not stopping them.

Evos have a 16g turbo that flows like a 20g and acutal pcm tunning that unlocks 30-40 wheel hp. if we had those two things it would be a different story too. But the more i look at the cobalts power band i think its better suited for a supercharger than a turbo.

hey play nice I'll say this much rob with more track time will get better thats a given. But this track season is gonna have more high 13 cobalts with tofus modds don't you worry. I belive the cobalt owners can pull through on this one and get cemented in low and high 13's over the course of the summer. And hopefully more than you can count on both hands.

Rob coulda done it himself , with control arm bushings and/or motor and trans mounts . Tofu would of had to peddle the same wheel hop , he had a motor mount to aid the wheel hop when he went 13.85 .

I wasn't trying to say anything bad about Rob's driving skills if that's how it came off sorry. I know this was Rob's first time racing the car. I was just curious since Tofu seems to have his launch down.

2TONFUN was the license plate of the older impala that was at the track running the same day intense was there.

I didn't even think of it that way, I guess what I should have said was I can't wait to see what times the car is capable of when Rob gets the launch down.

Size does matter thats what was bothering that wesman guy so much. He kept looking down and got diappointed all the time. Don't mind me folks that was just some random hate from me in memory of the late great Wasey. May he always be remeberd as a martyr

are we talking about pure drag cars or street cars here, because 1000hp hondas def. run race gas....in that case size does matter....top fuel dragsters.....lol enough power in each cylinder to kill anyone

Rob's been racing for longer than I've been alive haha, so I'm sure he'll be a better driver once he gets more track time in the SS/SC. It's really exciting though because it gives me, a lone and poor youngen something to shoot for. I've seen some incredible driving in my few years of track experience...one day I hope to able to drive like them. I know it's cheesy but it's like a form of art, there are always ways of improving your technique- you just have to practice and know that you capable of accomplishing it.

seriously this thread does have enough fighting, i'm just mad that a lot of members keep saying "wait for the aftermarket" You dont wait for this ****, you go out and find it, or make it, or whatever it takes, thats how you mod a car. And as far as showing me whose gonna feel bad for who, i honestly dont know how to take that. I mean, i may not be making 270 hp now, but within the next month i should be apart of the "300hp stock turbo" club. It's taken some time but i'm getting the parts together slowly but surely.
