The Results are in!! INTENSE stg3 hit the Track
Yea, I know. So far, we haven't been blessed with the aftermarket you guys have. I know revitup is supposed to have a bunch of stuff getting ready to come out, I would assume that Intense is also. But as far as being stuck in the mid 13's, I think Rob will be there before spring is over. This year should be a great year for the Cobalts.
no no no , the parts ARE there . Thats the frustracting part , these piggy back computers will only effectively tune the PCM so far . When someone on this earth cracks the PCM code so we can tune the damn car it will be a different ballgame .
I have the option of buying a heavily ported stage 3 cylinder head , various stages of cams , bottom end engine parts are avail . ( only thing that needs addressed is the pistons , the rods and crank are forged and strong ) , A swap to a m90 blower could be done . If we could tune , we could work on effectively using alcohol injection to get more timing for more HP/TQ .
As of right now , I would need a stand alone system to do all that . A typical FAST system cost nearly $3K .
Our very sensitive stock PCM's are the big fat DAM in these cars right now . According to a few people , it should be cracked by summer . Then watch out
....it takes stupid stuff and less than $1000 to get damn near 300 wp and even with a piggy back or mafT the stock PCM is still zapping power away .
We will be just fine , hehehe

I keep hearing everyone say "oh give the aftermarket time and they'll come up with something" Honestly, its been a damn long time, the car has to have been out for a year now, and you still basiclly have no go fast parts. Either someone takes some action and starts writing to some major companies or you will be stuck in the mid 13's.

Rob coulda done it himself , with control arm bushings and/or motor and trans mounts . Tofu would of had to peddle the same wheel hop , he had a motor mount to aid the wheel hop when he went 13.85 .

I belive the cobalt owners can pull through on this one and get cemented in low and high 13's over the course of the summer. And hopefully more than you can count on both hands.

There are 1.8l Honda's making 1000hp and knocking on 8s. I just don't think the engine size should matter in this argument.
Don't mind me folks that was just some random hate from me in memory of the late great Wasey. May he always be remeberd as a martyr

Rob's been racing for longer than I've been alive haha, so I'm sure he'll be a better driver once he gets more track time in the SS/SC. It's really exciting though because it gives me, a lone and poor youngen something to shoot for. I've seen some incredible driving in my few years of track experience...one day I hope to able to drive like them. I know it's cheesy but it's like a form of art, there are always ways of improving your technique- you just have to practice and know that you capable of accomplishing it.
