Supercharged tC

Ok, so there is this guy in one of my college classes that has a supercharged tC, and he is always talking about how fast his car is and so on. Well, I wanted to find out. So him and I ended up going on a back street after class to race. From a dig, he took me off the line, but as soon as I hit 2nd I caught him and we were pretty much dead even, and 3rd I pulled maybe 1/2-1 car on him. I was very impressed Then we went from a 40 mph roll, and I had maybe 1 car length on him. I have raced several tC's that arent supercharged, and never had a problem with winning. But damn, he gave me a run for my money. Just thought I would share another racing story

yeah they are quick but i dont think they boost alot since its from trd which are very conservative on power. maybe if he changed the pulley and did some tuning he could tie you

he prolly did have a different pulley cuz the charger with stock pully only adds 30 hp which wouldnt put the TC still close to the SS/SC those TC's stock are dogs really! i mean my supercharged cavi rapes them at 4.5psi!

never raced one in my stock ss/sc but its faster than the cav so yeah! bet he has a couple size down pully or maybe some other mods

get a stage 2 and there won't be any S/C TCs that will be giving you any worry.

Where you from in WI?

The one I've been looking for is a tC with a Turbonetics kit on it. My girlfriend has a RS 2.0 tC and she isn't going for the idea of a blower or a turbo. Turbonetics claims 300hp with their kit.

Yeah, I firmly believe the 2AZ bottom ends are garbage, so its probably better off that she doesn't throw one on. Go to scionlife.com and see how many people spun bearings or have severe blowby after just bolt ons. I honestly can't see how the 2AZ would hold up after 50k miles with the Turbonetics kit.

"not quite as fast as the SI"

"Price left us scratching our head"
"With the Si going for a mere $19,990 for everything but a navigation system, $26K for a 2006 Scion tC Supercharged is hard to swallow."

Wait........what?

First off, where did they find a loaded Si for that price? Base MSRP is above that. Second, the tC with a blower installed as they quote: "With TRD's setup, the tC retains its 3-year/36,000-mile factory drivetrain warranty as long as everything is dealer-installed, a 6-to-8-hour process by Toyota's estimates. Combine that with the $3,200 cost of the supercharger and you're looking at around $3,500 minimum on top of the tC's $16,200 base price."

uhhhh, I'm no math whiz but that doesn't come close to 26k. 26k minus 19.7 for base price is 6,300 in options? WTF! Add Edmunds to the growing list of "Jumping on the Honda bandwagon."

The tC with the turbonetics kit is fast as hell. I've got a vid of it raping a stage 1 SRT-4.
