took my TC to the strip
ran a 15 flat lol after many failed attempts with second gear
kept spinning second past redline and it would "lock" me out it would go into second but the clutch wouldn't engage
my final run i got 15.01 @98 with a 2.6 60 foot lol need new tires and need to learn to launch >>
only been driving a stick for 3 weeks

true story.
OP take it easy on the car learn how to drive the standard before racing it. Find someone local who is willing to help you learn, driving instructions for any racing will save you a lot of problems. If you don't have someone knowledgeable around you there are a few semi decent threads on here about it, but dont try to get the best times ever each run starting out. Learn the tree and get your reaction times down first. Don't try slamming gears till you get the tree and your 60' down, then worry about the time for shifting

thanks lol ive picked it up quickly i should be ready by next season was granny slipping 1st so i dont hop to bad until and these tires are terrible it has some falken 912s all seasons

just keep practicing. takes time..im.still learning to drive my sc lol. took me forever to get under 10 in the 1/8th.

OP, the trick to getting a good track time is to not try and kill it off the line. You will spin and spin and spin and everyone will love all the spinning but you will hate it because it means your slow with regards to landing a good time at the strip.
what you need to do is pretend your at a red light and you want to roll of the line rather quickly and follow it up with pacing yourself rolling into the throttle. 2nd gear requires the same treatment but not as much.
Dont use launch control, just rev it to 2400rpms and hold it there and roll off the clutch barely burning it. Dont drop the clutch. ease off it as if your driving normally. Then punch it afterwards in the middle of 2nd gear rpm band.

if you are stock, don't redline all the gears, as the stock components die out in the higher RPMS.
As a general rule of thumb, every tenth of a second you shave off your 60ft is about two tenths of a second off your overall time. so get your 60ft to a 2.0 and you'll be running low/mid 14's.
