Track

I was wondering if people are using fourth at the track. Someone told me that if you speedshift you get into 4th. But he shifts normal regularly and only uses upto 3rd by the end of the track?

What is the proper way to speedshift, WOT?

Thanks

Well correct me if im wrong fellas but with powershifting the gas should never leave the floor you just have to shift twice as hard and twice as fast. If that is what your talking about

yeah ur right about power shifting. when you shift your foot never leaves the accelerator pedal and that never leaves the FLOOR. Not a hard thing to do but yes you have to shift twice as fast maybe not as hard. on the RLforums i heard that one guy had his best time when he power shifted. personally with a front wheel drive i will power shift but with like my moms Z28 im afraid to since the rear end slides out when you do it. Yeah sum scary shittttt.

3rd gear is all you need. You should come close to the limiter by the end of the 1/4, but unless you have some serious mods to push your trap speeds well into triple digits, there's no need to shift.

I am hitting the rev limiter in 3rd on the 1/4 mile. It won't take that much more to push you into 4th, in fact I think it's going to make it harder to get into the lower ETs.

What do you mean by "track"? If you mean drag track, then no, there's no need for 4th. If you mean a race track, it all depends on the track and the length of the straightaways, the one I usually go to yeah, I grab fourth on the front stretch because it's too long to stay in third, you hit the rev limiter.
