Very first time at the track
Very first time at the track
Almost stock (exhaust) ss/sc
I was pretty impressed with myself for my first ever time at the track.
very first run was a 15.2
very last run of the night was a 14.929 @100.40 mph
considering an elevation of 2373ft. Its a pretty darn good time.
Timeslip: Im car# 0067
Ps. the car I raced was a Corvette

I see you are having trouble launching it with that 60'. Get it down to around 2.2 and you will have much better times. Good job on your first time. Its a blast isn't it? It gets addicting.
Thanks!
Yeah I was having a TERRIBLE time with wheel hop. I just couldnt get the launchs at all. I think I need to tighten my torque dampner and then I'll feel more confortable launching harder.
You're right its a blast and addicting!

considering you are at 2373 ft. and still trapped 100mph, that's possibly the worst track time ever. 14.9@100! are you kidding me. I'm not trying you hate man, but that's terrible. Go buy some sticky tires or something.
Dude, its was his first time at the track. I bet his next slips will be under 14.5. Give the guy a chance!
Yup they will be down there next time for sure.
I dont think I mentioned that it was also opening night at the track. It wasn`t exactly in the best of conditions, or so I was told.

bad track prep FTL.. i had a stage 2 LSJ (IRL) running LOW 14's @103+ average at 2700ft.. and a 2.4 60 for any FWD car was amazing at palmdale on stock tires.. i never got to run DR's and solid mount's.. so ill never know what it could have really run when pushed hard.
Not bad for that hight. Like others said get the 60' down and you'd be golden.
I know I have to work onn the 60' time. There just wasnt much more to be had from that track, that night.
We also had a stg2 redline with us. All he did was spin all the way down the track. He best time was a 15.1, it was pretty rediculous.
i spun SLICKS down the track all night.
good run rob. very respectable considering the track was glass lastnight and there was no heat in it.
the track will get better as they put more events on, and hence more rubber/vht
HOORAHHH!! lol
For an idea of the temp outside, my car was warning my of ice possible....

I was happy with it.
I saw your one run, it was crazy how all you did was just spin. Too bad you couldnt have stayed around. I know by the end of the night you would have been in the low-mid 13's again
Dude, dont stress the people on here.
Each track is different...no 2 tracks are the same.
Have it be that maybe the track is slightly downhill (Byron, IL), or the staff is bunch of complete idiots and make you wait 1min+ after you do a decent burnout and get your tires sticky, or the track prep just straight up blows.
Dont worry about it...the first time ive ever ran at the track, i ran a whopping 18.6...granted i had 53 miles on the car, and was on low grade gas...
But with the change of the track, premium gas...and my car being broken in (5k+ miles)...i was down to a 16.3 average.
Now im down to a 13.5
