i was just wondering because Quaker City Raceway is an IHRA track and there is an acura/honda shoot out this weekend that has different rules as can be read here http://ndra.nopi.com/2005/ndra_rulebook.cfm it clearly says 13.99, but i was just kinda on the fence on weather to get a helmet or not, some say it looks stupid but i dunno, even if i don't hit 13's but trap 100 that can still be really bad to wipe out so maybe i will get one to be on the safe side

My local track is an IHRA track, and it's 13.99 or faster. Just need to know your local rules, and stop caring about how you look. WTF is this a high school dance? Dude does my hair look alright?

Here in Maryland the rules are at any drag-strip, 13.99 or faster you wear a helmet, so i just wear the damn helmet and dont say ****, my fastes pass to date was 13.6 @ 105, with alot of room for improvement so i have to wear it.

I got a snell2000 certified helmet. I hit too many tracks up and down the eastern sea board. Plus on principle, I think its a good idea to wear them.

i'd say go ahead and get one. you'll want to have one handy in case you're into autoX anyways.

the track decides what rules will be followed. IHRA does not sponsor regular events, so they dont have to follow their rules.... a lot of tracks DO follow their rules, but some dont. so his track is NOT dumb.
