well i weighed my 2 door sport last weekend at the track with my in it, and some car cleaning stuff in the back and somewhere around 1/2-1/4 tank of gas; i was 3050lbs. But as for weight reduction...

CF hood
CF trunk
lightweight battery
lightweight wheels
take out spare/the rest of your trash
run with under a 1/4 tank of gas (full takes are heavy)

if you want extreme,
get thinner glass
remove seats, etc.
take off AC, powersteering etc.
go on a diet

I've heard the CF hood is about 50 lbs, which makes me wonder what the stock hood was.

CF trunk?

If anyone can link me to that how to on weight reduction, that would be great because I see no such thread.

I shed 13lbs from changing exhaust. Another 9lbs when changed to my coilovers. You can also remove the rear speakers and sub, not sure on the weight though.

on my grand am, i was able to shed well over 100 lbs. in about an hour of work. this involved gutting the trunk of EVERYTHING that was in it (spare, jack, liner, sound deadening), back seats out, floor mats out, switched to 14 in. pontiac wheels from 16s (about 8 lbs. per wheel!), and cleaning the crap out of the car.
