went to the track last night...

so yeah i went to the track last night.. i was decently happy with what i ran with what tracktion i got. my fastest time was 14.01 @ 103 which really pisses me off. but off the line i spun pretty good. i left the line at about 2 grand. my 60's where decent i guess. my best 60' was 2.256. but anyways i thought i'd post it up. and for anyone in the northern indiana area... muncie is the best track to go to. bikini contest where the girls take there tops off...FTW

Well, i just installed my TTR solid motor mount, and that alone makes a BIG difference, I can tell already. Also working on getting my new tranny mounts installed as well, cant wait! Next stop, axles.

As far as times go I am right there with you. I have been running 14.0's with a 2.4 60' time. If I could get them down to 2.2 or lower I would be into the 13's with no problem. Any way kudos on the times. 2.2 is a great 60' with no mounts or anything. I have the the TTR upper mount and prothane trans mounts and still are yielding the 2.4 60' times.

I dunno, it depends I guess man. Some people on here say the vibes are rediculous and hard to live with, others not quite so; I myself think their only about as bad as an Ingalls adjusted almost all the way (thats how I used to have mine adjusted, back when I had one), and therefore not that bad. Actually, I like it alot, the motor is amplified very much through the chassis, making it significantly louder it seems.

At first the vibes might **** you off and not seem worth it but you must give it time. Eventually the vibes will calm down and you will get used to it.

yeah i'm really thinking about getting some mounts. i prolly will here at the end of the week. i just killer to hit a low 14 like that and not break into the 13's. oh well i'm sitll impressed with the car. i ran up next to a v6 camaro and he rean a 17.8 i kid you not. i looked in my mirror to see where he was, and i was like WTF? did i already pass the 1/4 mile mark, and he was just backing off. and man he was talking alot of **** to. hes was telling his friend he was bringing down with him that hes going to kick the **** out of my 4 banger.haha makes me happy =+)

i think people go the wrong way with modding the ss/sc... it barely gets traction stock... the first thing people should do is traction mods... the power does absolutely NOTHING if you can't use it... it's getting very old seeing 13.7 @107. that should be good for 12's.

you guys should focus more on using the power you have, instead of adding more power that you can't use.

^^Agreed. Have to say though, there's only so much we can do. Motor & tranny mounts, drags, strut bar, springs, etc. And even the people that have all that aren't getting the greatest 60' times. IDK, is that normal for a FWD car? How does our traction compare to the SRT4's? Not to mention, I had tranny mounts on for a couple months, and just couldn't stand the vibes, so I took them out. I'm not ready to sacrifice my ride quality yet.

I think the only traction mods needed for this car are slicks, a torque damper, and driving.
I used to think you need to spend a ton on traction, and turn your car into a solid vibrating hunk of metal to launch from the line. but I dont believe so anymore.

After a full year of driving and getting used to launching this thing....
i was able to cut a 2.1 60ft time with just an ingalls, all my 60fts are 2.2s and 2.1s now unless i screw up and thats on stock rubber with about 60% tread left with 32lbs of tire pressure.

I think slicks and a TD is good for sub 2.0 60ft times easily. its just a matter of learning the dance on the clutch and throttle.

Throttle Management, don't just hammer the gas. It's not that we have too much power, it's that you need to learn2drive. I've gotten 2.0 60's a few times with stock tires and get 2.1's consistantly. I can see 1.9's being possible with stickier street tires other than these bald Rosso's.

I run 13 flat at about 106mph in my LT1 Camaro, and thats with about a 2.0 60ft. So your trap is easily mid 13's if you can get it to hook. Experience has shown me that for every tenth you knock off your 60ft, you'll gain about 2 tenths at the end of the 1/4. So if you can knock that 60ft down to around 2.0 then youll be sittin at around 13.6, good luck with it.
