What the hell is wrong with my time????!!!!

Ok, so the other day i went to the track for the first time in my balt. It was about 78 degrees and it was pretty humid as well. With my set up i figured i could run a 13 or a low 14. Well i thought wrong! really wrong. My best time was a 15.01 at 93.48! I even had somebody else drive my car and they were still in the low 15s. Heres my numbers.

R/T: .469
60: 2.328
330: 6.433
1/8: 9.735 @74.28
1000: 12.603
1/4: 15.01 @93.48

Now with my set up i have a custom dyno tune. The guy who tuned it tuned it down and is making my car put out 225 whp and 210 tq. I was pissed i paid all this money and im all but stock!! What are your guys' suggestions for me? Can i see some of your times as well? Thanks

How are you only at 225?
With a stock exhaust, K&N intake, and 0.05" larger pully, and 40# injectors, I dynoed at 232 WHP

How was your traction? I'm running very similar mods on my SS and the one time I ran it at the track I was about the same as you.

But this was on a day that the drag cars were running with us street cars making the track all slimy from their rubber while I was spinning tires through all of first and during every gear change. Which is fine, I was just stress testing the tune and setup.

I got it tuned by Stumps Garage in Pine Grove.

My traction wasnt that bad. It was 78 out and humid as hell though. Even still with this sixty i have seen guys on the forum with slow sixties then me and they still have a faster 1/4 mile time then me. Im going back thursday hopefully to get it redone.

First off, 2.3 60ft is bad traction no matter what sauce you put on it. You should be a mid to high 14 with a easy launch with your traps.

As far as why your time is so shitty, you are trapping the same speed I trapped when I was bone stock and it was like 100 degrees out with 100% humidity and the track was 114 degrees. My car was pulling timing like crazy.

Your car should definitely not be trapping that low with your modifications. Hell, with a mere 220whp and 201wtq on the stock pulley, I went 13.6@100mph. With less mods than you and on a 2.9 pulley, I went 13.2@104mph.

You should go elsewhere for the tune.
You live up above h-burg?
If you're looking for a shop type deal I'd hit up

http://www.innovative-motorworks.com/
or
http://sgsperformance.com/

both have used hpt before to tune different setups turbo s/c n/a and all seen great results.

Damn dude I went 14.8 @99 with just a catback on a 90* day. I would get retuned and check to make sure your IC pump is working

you are a driver sent from god though hes not. Get a retune he probly has you running very little timing.

Im getting my retune on thursday. He even told me that he didnt push the tune to the max, so hes gonna tweak it a little and i told him to take the rev limiter to 7k where the stage 2 should be. so we will see. hopefully it works out.

That or he can't tune. Lol. Gonna need more than a little tweak.

Wow. I ran a 2.3 60fter once and still managed a 14.0@103. I think you already have your answer.

He trapped 10mph slower than you and therefore ran a sec slower. That comes out exactly right.

a 14.0 isn't actually good at all for a 103 trap speed.

Just an fyi, that rubber they laid down from their slicks GIVES you traction. Those are the days I would want to be running my street car at the track.

it is NOT your 60' time causing this. on my 2.8" setup i was hitting 2.3 60' times yet i was running 13.70s and never trapped below 105. your tune sucks, or you're heat soaking really bad and the car is pulling timing. and seeing that you're 1/8 mile is roughly 5-6mph off the norm for a solid run with your mods. and your trap speed is about a full 10mph off...it'd say its a combination of both.

it was raining, 100* air temp and only 114* track temp?

My point was that his 2.3 60fter isn't why he ran a 15.0. It doesn't help but other things have to be going on like heatsoak or a funked tune.

Tune or possibly intercooler pump failing. Look at my sig. GM stage 2, Injen intake, DC cat-back.
