It's the non-street legal, Build it yourself(most of the time), WICKED FAST version of the car all of us love and adore, The Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharged.

Close. Its the Cobalt TURBO charged, not super. Phase 5 build a drag car using all consumer available parts. Anybody with a bank roll and some smarts can do it. I'm doing a lot of the power upgrades including the turbo. The phase 5 produces over 500 HP. I'll be doing around 375.

Then you'll never have it look great be fast, takes way too much money so you have to pick which one is more important too you.

Race cars don't have to be ugly, but they aren't going to have HUGE useless wings and body kits.

Also the Phase 5 car has run best of 11.88, I was hoping it would be faster but they haven't run the car all out just yet.

Its REALLY HEAVY also.

Courtney Green's Civic is about 2400lbs and makes over 600hp.

They way I have it figured, the Phase 5 car is at least 2800lbs even with the minor weight reduction program and make only 500hp? That's not going to cut it.

I need to really talk to GM Racing and maybe build something in between the Phase 5 car and Gardella's Hot Rod/Pro 4 Cylinder car.

If I get a Cobalt its to run SFWD (Sport FWD) where the class record is high 9's

I think you misunderstood me

I meant that i want my car looks but also have some speed.

What i mean by speed isnt a 500 HP car , i was looking more to break 200 -220 and i would be happy.

I dont drag race or anything just mostly street races and La Feabre(sp) which is a huge race import scene they have in orlando on saturday nights where everyone just kinda meets up in a empty parking lot and chills and look at cars.

My car (in my opinion) already looks real nice, just want to drop it and add some minor stuff to it. maybe a kit , still debating, most likely though.

Im not trying to make my car a 'race car" just a little faster, if my car was as fast as an SS i would be happy.

Sorry but you posted in the thread with a racecar in it, so I was thinking along those lines.

If you watched the Tuner Transformation Special on Speed TV, they hooked up Jin's Cobalt and it made 202hp and 232ft of torque with Hahn Turbo Kit, DC Sport Cat-back which I would guess is meant for the SS and GM Racing's Russ O'Blenes showed up to help install forged pistons and rods in the block.

So they were taking the basics from the Performance Handbook.

That car also had 18" ICON wheels, RK Sport Body Kit, Racing Seats, Custom Kaption Audio stereo system and KW Coilovers Variant 1's (I believe).

So its totally 100% possible and I wish you luck on your project.
