huh...

where were you shifting?
Can you recall what you launched at?

I have understood that boosted cars are not as susceptible to elevation or DA differences as n/a cars...
but this is making me wonder if I'm incorrect...
I just looked it up, and your track is at 325ft, while mine is 3380ft...

I know when I drove my car to my mom's this past spring (see sig pic below), the car felt more powerful...
Yeah, it was my first time at the track with this car, I was pleasantly surprised though with the times.

I'd launch at 2000-2100 rpms, NLS at 5800 RPM's every time since the tach was a little slow. I would have to hit 4th about 50-75 feet before the finish line. I would shift from 3rd-4th around 6k though since it was easier to gauge.

Lower the front tires to 25psi and raise the rears to 40psi.

That's about it.

I would try to leave the box as if I was leaving from a stop light quickly (half-3/4ths throttle til 3500-3800 and WOT from there the rest of the way).

I've gotten lower 60's since I've been tuned and know the car now, but the times I posted on page 2 were my very first time with the car at the track.

Gotta take into to account that the track could be uphill or downhill, tailwinds, etc.

I ran a 13.9 @ 102 or 103 (can't quite remember) here in PHX where we have both altitude and heat. Bone stock, not even an air filter.

making roads flat is pretty much the whole premise behind a civil engineer...

Why are we still debating this? The SS/TC has proven in several sources that the car is capable of 13 second passes stock. Plus multiple owners have proven this.

Not all tracks are flat. Byron raceway comes to mind.

there is no debate, there never was a debate... I don't know how you could read into it that way...

we're currently on two nice little tangents of a thread I started trying to find the 13.8 e/t road test...

if my last post threw you off, I apologize, but this part is the whole reason why I posted;

clear as mud?

as to those tracks...
wow...
I have never heard of any tracks not being on level ground...

Were these tracks possibly retired old airstrips that they were not leveled out to begin with?

Idk I just know that bunker hill had problems with ppl rolling backwards outta the beams and its like one of few that is all uphill. The rest usually have an uphill at the end to help slow the cars.

the man is right

headwind, tailwind and even track grade play a measurable role in track times. have you ever heard of ranger acceleration? this guy holds the c5 z06, c6 z06 and zr1 bone stock track time records. only thing is, he races down one of the most downhill tracks in the united states. also think about tailwind, if you cross the line at say 104 mph with a 20 mph tailwind, you are experiencing the same amount of drag as if you were going 84 mph. headwind is just the opposite

I was questioning the guys who were saying the SS/TC's were treaked when they trap in the 104 range. That's all, not what you were discussing. Sorry I didn't clarify that.
