The car is 227 at the crank stock, so the 166 figure sounds pretty close. Maybe somewhere inbetween, like 180. Why are you worried about a WRX?? You gotta watch out for the STI.

Diff dyno

Strapped to a Dynamic Test Systems 4-wheel dynamometer, the stock 2006 WRX generated 206.0 horsepower at the wheels. "

^^WRX's don't do intakes as a first mod. Exhaust is where the money is on WRX's, Turbo backs specifically.

Ehh, i spanked one pretty bad one night. I think it was 04-05. Still had a paper tag on it. He wanted to run me rolling, I had to back off by the end of second because I already had 3 cars on him.

Huhm....that's quite odd. Do you have any particulars on this case? I should have said in general WRX's don't do intakes as a first mod. When I reflashed my STi there was a very short list of acceptable CAI's for the tune, Cobb's, stock and the SPT I beleive were the three that were garaunteed to work trouble free.

STi's are a trim level above WRX's.

dyno comp isn't very specific about 'what' it is that the air filter deal thing is. a buddy of mine with a wrx says that it's an intake that they are selling ... custom maybe? dunno but the little discription says it's an element so it could be like an airbox mod or something. I used to work right next door to dynocomp but my new office isn't even in the same city anymore so i can't walk over n ask otherwise I would get more concrete info ... check out their site, http://dynocomp.com/subaru.php?view=subaru

I think by filter element they mean something along the lines of K&N droping or something. I have one of those in my STi, it doesn't really do anything as far as I can tell. I wouldn't mind having their Stage 5 for my STi. mmmmm.....GT35r....delicous.

My tuner tunned a completly stock 06 besides the accessport and pulled 224whp and 275wtq. It put down 198whp and 243wtq stock.

Nice numbers. I'm debating on a Pro-tune myself. I'm still waiting on my catback to come in from Cobb so I have the full Stage 2.

Yeah but I don't think I stand any chance of running lean with an OTS Cobb map.

Yea but you run pig rich, which can be almost as bad. When i got stage 2 tuned i was running afr's below 10, not to mention your missing out on prolly 20 hp and 30 tq.

I'd rather run a little rich than a little lean. How accurate is the Cobb AP btw? It said my IDC was at 22% WOT at 6500 rpms.

below 10 as an afr is not a little rich, its a lot. And if you get it tunned you dont have to worry about either.

Do you have the ver. 2.0 accessport? because mine cant read duty cycles. And yea 22% is wrong.

Yeah, I have the 2.0. I'm still stuck on the mantra I got from the Cobalt when it comes to tuning. If you tune for summer then you won't be rich enough for winter and pop goes the motor. And of course I don't feel the need to butcher my interior with gauges if I don't have to. I like the clean factory look.
