I have a 06 SS and 4th gear just crapped out on me, ive been talking to my dealer about getting it rebuilt and they said the price could vary from fairly low to high and i was considering just replacing the hole transmission but the only one i can find in my area wants $1200, can i replace it with something from another car such as a cavalier or something along those lines?

any help would be great..thanks
