08 nls tranny issues

ok so, my buddy with an 08 ss/tc just blew 3rd grear doin no-lift shift...
he is stock as far as tune, but has, dejon sri, dejon upper pipe w/greddy bov, and a muffler performance wise...oh and a hyper single stage 3 clutch

his car is at the dealer and he is tryin to get it fixed under warrenty because the 08 trannies are problematic with no lift shift, so im wondering if anyone has a link or knows of a link n here with something related to 08 tranny issues??

thanks

yeah NLS is not a good idea modded... I never did it stock, our turbo is so small you don't drop a lot of boost or lag much anyway

Didnt ur buddy post on here? I think he did. Tell him to bite the bullet buy this Cobalt G5 2008, 2009 LNF 5 speed w/ LSD 55564936 - Crate Engine Depot

then send it to

Cryogenic Treatment, Cryo Treatment and Cryogenics

He will never have another problem again.

This is the route i will be going in the spring. I'm getting my Tranny and Engine Cyro Frozen. Supposdly its supposed to increase the strength by 110% from all the articles i have read on it. And its fairly reasonable pricing. Much easier than doing a whole engine build with forged parts.

They say it makes parts wear less and the longevity insane. On company did it on a 2001 Silverado, the tranny and engine. They have 300,000 miles on it and have yet to rebuild a tranny or any engine parts. Now thats some mileage on a truck

damn... that is pretty cheap on the transmission, for a 4-cylinder only $150(plus shipping both way)... i'm sure it'd cost around $300 for shipping both ways but still... around $500 is not bad at all

NLS'ing on an aftermarket clutch seems to be what is kiiling trannies. Theres no slip when all that tourque hits. Its alot harder on the car. Im at 22,000 miles and I NLS quite a bit, since the first day I got it.
Im going to look into the cryo thing though. Sounds good to me

so the dealer is putting a stock clutch on the car before the gm voucher comes to look at it, so they said he will most likely get his tranny covered under warrenty!

tight of them to do!!

Wow, yeah that is pretty cool of them to do that for him. Especially on the third tranny.
