1st and 2nd require more effort to get in gear compared to 3rd, 4th, and 5th
Hello,
My SS/TC has about 2,200 miles on it and this tranmission issure I am having is starting to bug me. When I am sittiing still I will put it in first gear and then pull it stright back into second. However going into first, and second, requires more effort when compared from going to 3rd to 4th.
I can go from 3rd to 4th and they go in and out very smooth. But 1st and 2nd have a fiction area and you have to pull/push a little harder.
I thought it would be a cable out of adjustment. So I took it to the dealer and they didn't find anything wrong. The mechanic said there was a bulletin for 3rd and 4th gear but not 1st or 2nd.
Is there an adjustment for the cable linkage?
Could the cables have stretched and I need new one?
Could this be a syncro problem?
Thanks for any help
Brian

Pictures would be great. Is it on the inside of the car or in the enigne compartment?
Do the 08 models have the roll pin problem that the SS/SC had?

no roll pins to my knowledge cant post pics here easily so pm me
Adjusting the shifter involves removing the center console, locking the shift lever in the 4th gear position and setting the trans in 4th, then setting the adjustment on the cables.
Tell youre dealer to look up this in "SI": Document ID:1715879 Youll sound very convincing
