2 questions

ok so i tried to search but i was't finding anything relevant.

1) i have the Centerforce DFX clutch set up in my car.... now they said the pedal would be easier to push down then before.... and to tell you the truth before was to easy for me. and now it is way to easy. i like to feel like i am actually doing something lol. is there any way i can tighten the pedal?

2) My Shifter is also kinda floppy. its the Hurst shifter. anyone else have this problem? is there any way to fix it? even in gear you can move the shifter around a decent amount

bump

so noone has answers lol

Not without changing parts. I know what you mean about a really light pedal, but its honestly better for the car. You dont want to have to deale with the clutch master popping out if the firewall, that sucks.

^b&M isn't all that much different from the hurst, i just think the set screw is at fault on the hurst, i personally have never had problems, but then again, mine is really in there.

I would go with a TWM if you must have an STS, i am going to upgrade to their bushings.

That wasnt what I meant....just ditch the short throw, period. or see if you can find a whole shifter assembly that isnt worn out.(or maybe some new hurst bushings)

yeh thats true new bushing would help, I just think the B&M is a better short thorow and the stock one is nice. Sorry if I was being blunt about just disrigarding the hurst!!!

I'll definatly keep that in mind. We can install our TVSs at the same time.

How did you decide on the centerforce?

I have my selection narrowed down to:

GMPP Clutch
Exedy OEM Replacement
Centerforce
Exedy Stage 3

i decided on centerforce for a few reasons. i got the DFX which is the stronger one, and it still has some what easy drivability. its a bit on the loud side and like i said it has a soft pedal. those ar the only draw backs i have seen.

i got a good price on it from CED which is local to us.

Well I want stock driveabiltiy with more holding power. Does that exist? I have never driven a car with an aftermarket clutch before.

the problem you are having with the hurst is the set screw. i installed mine and it did the same thing. i just went to the hardware store bought the exact replacement set screw but it had a solid base instead of cupped bottom. so when i put it in i used some liquid red locktite with the new set screw and tightened it as tight as i could without breaking the allen wrench. no more wobble. and i wouldnt ditch it. i dont know about the advantages of it but it looks sweet!
