Okay here's the best answer you'll probably get.

Yes possible, can install it yourself and have your car down for a few weeks?

Why does everyone say not to do it, you could get a F23 trans cobalt switch all your parts over then sell your now back to stock cobalt and be able to pay off most of the price of the new car with the sell. It's way easier and will work instead of going through all the unknowns that you'll be the first one ever solving and thus on your own.

So you're aware the F23 is actually stronger than a F35 trans and you can even add add a LSD but will need a new clutch and eventually axles. I'm very happy I spent extra time looking for a manual and paid a bit extra.

I don't know why people keep saying to sell the car, I spent way too much time, money, blood, sweat and tears on this car and I'm not selling lol and I heard the f35 can hold more TQ, and I can pic up a f35 from an 09 ss/tc for 175$

tc has a 3.82 final drive. SC trans is a 4.05 final drive. Lower gear has way better acceleration.

I am making almost 400 lb ft of torque and over 460 horsepower at the crank and my 4.05 F35 is just fine...

F23 is a under rated to hell . Getrag says its only good for 180 ft/lbs. but that must refer to stick clutch. Local cavalier puts 600 ft lbs of torque through his

sorry to hear that man, I am taking my car to the dyno on monday. I am trying to get my BRFPS tuned up for a few more whp. Gonna stop at 440 whp. I am trying to keep my car in great daily driving condition and still maintain my WOT power. The car right now is a beast and so much fun to drive. I am not going to lean on her to much harder.

Whats your plans now ? Theres not any parts available to rebuild unless you have a donor trans. Is it LSD ?

it should be noted that you CANNOT buy parts for these transmission no matter what version you look up. and btw it is also used in 2003-2004 saab's, and there are v6 saabs running 400+ hp and 450+ torque.

Why would you need parts. You can buy the trans for 300 and up. Theres new ones on carpart for as low as 400

because pre 2007 transmissions have bad 5th gear syncros. id love to see where your finding these for 300 dollars, the closest to that i have seen is the mu9 v6 transmission. everything on car-part is 650+ the average is around 1200 dollars. the sub 2006 6 speeds are mt2 code btw.

im currently swaping auto to manual with a 2004 f40 transmission and the bad syncro is my biggest fear about using that transmission.
