So the shift linkage on my 2008 SS/TC broke this weekend. Dealer wants $315 to fix which I found insane.

Should this be covered under warranty? Dealer says no of course, but can't seem to find out online for sure. Car is still under 5yr/100K Powertrain

If it's not covered does anyone have any suggestions as to any aftermarket options or the part number for GM's? Thanks!

 

That's not something that would be covered under powertrain. That's something that would be covered under bumper to bumper. IIRC TWM makes a stronger shift linkage.

 

Ok, makes sense. I looked under the shift boot and it looks like it's the cable that snapped. I see the TMW has better connections but do you know if it includes new shift link cables?

 

I'm pretty sure they don't.
