my 08 SS does this from time to time... not sure the cause, but just slide into any other gear, then try reverse again. this always works for me

you might of messed up the shift linkage, shifting really hard perhaps, i seen them have issue all the time, i have never had any issues with my 05ss/sc or my 09ss/tc, some time i got to do the other gear and then it will go into reverse. but its soulds like you damaged the linkage. warrenty work, just be like i dont know what happen it just all of a sudden wont shift, it will get fixed.

shift linkage being off is not a hard fix. look up the how tos on installing a short throw shifter.

I want to assume that you are lifting up on the little lever thing that is just below the shift knob when shifting into reverse right

mine shifts like butter except the epic 2nd gear. sometimes it throws me out when im shifting into second and releasing the clutch. i let it come out and put it back in cause i know if your force it. syncro's will say f.u. right back later on lol

but when its fully engaged in 2nd it doesnt pop out or anything at all

The linkage is out of adjustment a little bit. when we installed my sts, we adjusted mine a little bit and it shifts like butter now. it doesn't take much maybe an 1/8th to 1/16th of an inch either way. if you do it yourself, make sure to mark the cables with a sharpie for a reference point.

check your upper trany mount bolts basicly there right under the ecu a little towards teh front of the car on the left side of the ecu. you can fit a ratchet right down in there and tighten them up.
