8k miles, second thing to break trend? hlp!

After some spirited driving last night around the fun twisties I smelled something hot. It almost smelled like something burning. I pulled over and checked the motor. No codes flashed. Got back int and thought maybe its just hot. Checked the temp. and my coolant was around 180F. So I knew it was not the problem. Got back into the car and I could not get first gear. WTF! Well sure enough it seem as if I burned up the clutch or something. Not sure how it happened but its VERY hard to drive the car. The clutch feels alot differant so looks like the dealer is getting a call on Monday. Anyone have any advice for me?

My thoughts:

Option 1: Dealer won't cover the clutch (which would be BS, I only have 8k miles)
End up buying a after market clutch and flywheel.

Option 2: Dealer fixes the problem under warnity.
I go home a happy camper.

Option 3: I pay the differance in price and upgrade to a better flywheel and clutch.
I go home very very happy.

So what would be the best aftermarket clutch for street/track combo. Also whats the best flywheel for my set up. Mods in my sig. Future plans axles, mounts, 2.9, tune.

Bump

I think the only flywheel out there right now is the Fidanza but I might be wrong. I wouldn't go any higher than a stage 2 clutch from clutchmasters.

Yea, I figured since the clutch went, why not upgrade the flywheel. I need some answers soon cuz my beater car is also out of comission Would like to hear from people with after market clutch/flywheels.

First off, when i thought my clutch was f-ed it turned out to be the master cylinder and that was fixed and havent had any clutch problems since.

Next, Exedy if you buy an aftermarket clutch, it clutch a fly wheel and with ur mods and more future mods this clutch would be a very good choice.

Yea, I guess I should not assume its the clutch so quickly. I'll find out early this week. Seems like the clutch is one of those weak points in the car. clutchs, plastic snaps on the gear box cables, the list goes on. Only think I can do is, whatever breaks gets fixed and upgraded.

I would get the exedy clutch and flywheel combo, or try a spec 3+ with fidanza flywheel.

So why are those the best? When you buy a exedy do you get a flywheel to match the clutch? Also where is the best place to buy these items. So many queations so little time.

Isn't there someone who knows alot about the clutchs in our cars and after market ones for that matter?...lol bump!

The exedy comes with a flywheel. Its a very good clutch. I've been running one for a few months and I love it.
No clue where the best place is to buy. I'd make the vendors compete .

Thanks Doc. What exedy do you have? I was thinking that would be a good clutch but it comes with a steel flywheel and its not as light as the Fidenza or w.e If you like yours though maybe I'll go for that one.
