Auto Trans Problems

Ok guys, this isn't a Cobalt problem, rather it is a Buick Lesabre. It has the 3.8L v6. My brother was driving it home, and he stopped backed up, put it back in drive, and it wouldn't go anywhere. I'm thinking diff or torque converter. Anyone have any ideas!

Any input will be greatly appreiciated!!

Thanks guys!!

Sounds like it may be the tranny its self if it wont go into any gear but then again it could not be engaging check the fluid if it smells like a burn smell then its the tranny but good luck hope you find out what it is
