First of all wrong section for this bro.

Secondly I would have the dealer check that out cause it can be a few different things.

1: Tranny Slipping = Not good.

2: Low Tranny Fluid = Also Not good.

3: Blown Tranny Computer = Really Not good.

how many miles are on it?

my focus' fuel injection or something like that screwed up once, and like...depending on what speed i would gun it from, it would go to a certain rpms, and act like it was hitting a rev limiter and wouldnt shift.

ajhhhh ive done that.... its not your tcm if it was you would be stuck in a gear...... Automatic transmissions work on hydraulic pressure, when you pin the throttle they have to react fast and sometimes they wont do what their supposed to if the pressure isnt up at the right point.... i am about 99% sure there is nothing wrong with your car...... you just cought it at a bad time, my durango does it all the time.... alittle diff scenereo but same idea

I heard somewhere that auto trannies rely on two basic things to tell them when to shift.
1.RPMs
2.Vaccuum pressure
Maybe you've got a vaccuum leak somewhere assuming that what I heard is correct.

Theses arent vacum controlled trannies, they are completely electronic

At the very least, I would have the dealer pull codes on it with the Tech2. It will tell you what happened. Like someone earlier said, it was likely a low pressure event, but the real question is why? Most likely just a brain fart with the TCM commanding SS1 off and SS2 did not energize quickly enough. I would not sweat it too much if it is an isolated event. If it begins to reoccur, then get worried.
