axels / struts / shocks question

my buddy has a saturn ion, non-redline. he needs new axels, struts and shocks. are they the same style as the cobalts? what i mean is can he buy 2.2 cobalt parts and use them on the ion? maybe even use the FE5 suspension?

if its a 2.2. or 2.4 manual the axles are the same for any cobalt 2.2./2.4 manual with the F23 transmission.

struts and shocks are directly interchangeable you cannot use the Cobalt upper nut re use the Ion one with a little loctite on the threads.
springs do not directly interchange. upper strut mounts are completely different.
