Axle or wheel bearing? Or something else

I have 2009 cobalt ss and have a weird whining noise with a clicking coming from my front end passenger side. The noise only occurs when there is no load on the car. When I get on the gas the noise disappears. When I turn there is no noise. It's only when I'm going straight. There's no play in the wheel bearing. And I don't see any signs of axle damage. Any help?

I know my front passenger wheel bearing makes a ton of noise similar to your case, and it has no play in it or sign of wear. it's just loud.

I don't know anything on axle problems though

Just because there is no play in the wheel bearings doesn't mean its not shot.

That's an old mechanics trick.... "Check for play in the wheel bearing... if there isn't any its something else". Not always the case.

My daily driver Cavalier's wheel bearings roared like no other, but had no play or signs of wear on the exterior. They were shot though. Change yours.

OP, a clicking noise is usually an axle issue.

Thanks for the help. I don't have much experience with axles. I just found it weird that the noise completely disappears once I get on it. Do you know if anyone sells stage 2 axles for lnf's?

I feared that was my problem. I guess their logic is "it won't fall apart yet so it's fine" but I should get it replaced. I do still have to replace my dead IC pump though..
