i cruised with it on stage 1 all the time......sometimes stage 2.....but not really....some guys on here leave it on stage 2 all the time......i loved it while i had it....i actually just sold it....but its a real cheap and easy mod to do......took me like 10 mins to do the install the first time...after that when ever i took it off....it was like 5 mins or so...cuz i knew how to do it......but yes its well worth it....either u get this or you get ur tranny tuned with trifecta performance

do you really think it doesnt stress the motor to be slamming into gear every shift? You do realise that the motor is directly connected to trans right?

It is not SLAMMING every gear. and BTW... thats what your tranny mounts are for. and it is not going to have an effect on your motor... if anything it would be the other way around. You do realize that the motor turns the transmission and not the other way around?

Having a motor blow after 3 days of having it in... sounds like a coincidence. it's like arguing that your new brakes caused a tire to blow.

I have had a shiftplus on stage 2 for over 20,000 miles.... and have had no problems. Cavi guys had them on their cars forever with no problems.

I had a buddy have problems with it in a cavalier too. Their seals were not as good as the cobalts.

I already thought the Cobalt was relatively qucik before, but now, even ons stage one....damn! I recommend it

Ok i install this thing and my engine started acting nuts! it had a rough idle in park and even worse in drive, and after about 40secs after i had the car on at stage 2, it smelled like it was running really rich and i could see white smoke coming out of the exhast. i drove around the neighborhood and i could really tell that it was kicking in and it would shift hard going to 1st to 2nd gear, but then a CEL came on! i turned the car off and switch the the Shift+ off and then restarted the car and everything went back to normal and the CEL went away but the white smoke didn't go away for about 2 more miles. I don't know if it's that i installed it wrong or if it's because i have an '07, i post pics on my install.

yea, be sure you cut the right wires.... I almost... ALMOST... spliced into the wrong orange wire.... I continued to look back at my laptop ample times to make sure I wasn't ******* it up.......... also, compared to the how-to; his wiring harness went directly over the tranny.... my wiring harness went from the plug, under the radiator hose and towards the front of the car >_<....... be sure you spliced into the right wiring harness also.... there's a lot of convoluted tubing under there and alot of wires.... make sure it's on the harness that plugs into the tranny
