B&M Shiftplus.... Yes or No
okay, I have ssen some people swear by this, and others swear against it........ I want a poll with a final verdict on this item.......... the B&M Shiftplus for the automatic transmissions........ for those who have it or have experienced it first-hand....... is it a good idea, or a bad idea........ post, discuss
i cruised with it on stage 1 all the time......sometimes stage 2.....but not really....some guys on here leave it on stage 2 all the time......i loved it while i had it....i actually just sold it....but its a real cheap and easy mod to do......took me like 10 mins to do the install the first time...after that when ever i took it off....it was like 5 mins or so...cuz i knew how to do it......but yes its well worth it....either u get this or you get ur tranny tuned with trifecta performance
Having a motor blow after 3 days of having it in... sounds like a coincidence. it's like arguing that your new brakes caused a tire to blow.
I have had a shiftplus on stage 2 for over 20,000 miles.... and have had no problems. Cavi guys had them on their cars forever with no problems.
well, I got one, installed it today.... even through it was a complete pain in **** to get the wires on (I cut, stripped wires, twisted together and covered).......... all I have to say is, WOW.... I already thought the Cobalt was relatively qucik before, but now, even ons stage one....damn! I recommend it
i got my tranny tuned from trifecta so i have one for sale. my wife hated the switch but i put it on while i had it when she was not in the car.
so if anyone needs it, im selling mine, used like 100 miles, for 35 bucks free shipping in USA

Ok i install this thing and my engine started acting nuts! it had a rough idle in park and even worse in drive, and after about 40secs after i had the car on at stage 2, it smelled like it was running really rich and i could see white smoke coming out of the exhast. i drove around the neighborhood and i could really tell that it was kicking in and it would shift hard going to 1st to 2nd gear, but then a CEL came on! i turned the car off and switch the the Shift+ off and then restarted the car and everything went back to normal and the CEL went away but the white smoke didn't go away for about 2 more miles. I don't know if it's that i installed it wrong or if it's because i have an '07, i post pics on my install.
make sure you get the right wires. i did the wrong ones at first. dont have a clue which set i spliced lol. then i looked at the engine real hard and de de de found the right wires. orange with black stripe and light blue. believe its black to blue, red to orange. check the How to second or third page
yea, be sure you cut the right wires.... I almost... ALMOST... spliced into the wrong orange wire.... I continued to look back at my laptop ample times to make sure I wasn't ******* it up.......... also, compared to the how-to; his wiring harness went directly over the tranny.... my wiring harness went from the plug, under the radiator hose and towards the front of the car >_<....... be sure you spliced into the right wiring harness also.... there's a lot of convoluted tubing under there and alot of wires.... make sure it's on the harness that plugs into the tranny
