So I was driving to school a few weeks ago and I pull into the parking lot and attempt to back into a spot and no reverse ..... spent about 2 hours trying every different way of adjusting the cables and nothing .... I have first through fifth with no problems at all then reverse goes into the gate but will not engage.... it never made a grinding noise or anything just goes about half way in the gate and hits a brick wall ..... I feel like its not in the trans due to the fact that everything else works great and there is no grinding but idk I really don't want to tear into the trans only part on the car I am scarred to rip into ....

it may need an adjustment if you have a sts.

 

I honestly think that ive adjusted the cables every different way possible lol, but how do you adjust them correctly .... I tried putting it in 3rd then releasing the cables and clicking them back in .... nothing .. then I put it in 5th released them then pulled It back to reverse lockout and clicked them back in but still nothing
