How much shorter are the throws (yes i know 28%) Whatever is it a big diff and does it really change the way th shifter feels, i mean the stocker is already pretty short.

I say yes, there is a big difference. The throws are shorter but the biggest difference is in how the actual shift feels. It is a lot more precise and you have a lot more confidence that you are going to find the right gear when you need it.

I would recommend it to anyone, just make sure you take the time to adjust it correctly

Wow, I need to get a hurst! I sold my B&M and reinstalled the stocker, with some parts of another guys (ss s/c) shifter, and it sucks!!! I had to file the reverse lock out part of the shifter!

 

I have the B+M short throw. It was installed when I got the car. It was all messed up, but when I had a new clutch put in, the dealer realigned the cables and it shifts amazing. I have never missed a down or upshift with it. And this is my 1st 5spd car.

 

I will have the hurst shifter in hopefully in the next few days!

 

There is no reverse lockout issue, it's a matter of adjusting the cables properly. Get that done right and reverse lockout works better than stock, very smooth and for the first time since owning the car I have NO problems getting it into reverse.

I love the hurst, it feels way better than the stock shifter did as far as qulity goes. It does feel shorter and with a little bit more tweaking on the cables I think it will 110%.

 

One other thing that I have noticed. This damn thing is COLD in the winter! I couldn't imagine what this thing would feel like if I was to go back home for a Texas summer, it would be unbearable to the touch.

 

might be getting the B&M now, the hurst does not come with stiffer bushings as the B&M does, and those are what sets the B&M apart from the HURST hmmmm i just love the way the hurst looks

 

I don't think the B&M is any better. Everyone I have talked to has to keep something in the car to protect their hand during the summer.

 

I think in the winter that is just somthing that we all are going to have to deal with.

What bushings do the B&M come with? I didn't see anything bushing wise, not included that would benifit us. If it does can some one show pics of them?

 

you didnt see bushings because the hurst does not come with stiffer bushings, you can see them included here with the B&M..

 

Where do the bushings go? I wasn't talking about what was included with the sifter. I was talking about any were in the area of the sifter that would make a diffrence but I could of over looked them.

 

The Bushings don't give any better feel to the shifter they just transferr more noise & vibration.

The B&M shifter is shorter thats how they get the shorter throw so keep that in mind, The Hurst keeps the shifter knob the same height as stock.

 

I agree with everyone else, I was leary at first about the Hurst not having bushings, then after looking over the stock assembly, there isn't really anything they're going to have an effect on except MAYBE some vibration. To drive both, the Hurst just feels more precise. The throws between Hurst and B&M seems exactly the same, it's just that getting between gears just feels a lot more smoother and shifting is more precise, less "wobbly" than the B&M IMO.
