Blew Axle Again!

well I went to Byron Dragway today and got in 3 solid runs.. all of which i was against SRT-4's. Well I won 2 outta the three all of them modded. the only one I lost was from a stage 3 srt. anyway on my 4th run before I was going to leave I launched like usual and WHAM... clink,clink,clink... So I pull over on the side of the strip and sat there.. I go oh **** there goes the trans, or the clutch.. Well guy came up to me and says well you def blew out the knuckle. I was like Thank God! but truely I was like ****. Well I have officially went through 2 sets of Axles from GM! Wow do these things suck. Ran a best of a 12.9 tonight though so I was stoked! But anyway had to get a buddy to drive an hour to bring a trailor to tow me to Chevy. Once again it is in there gettin the axles replaced! YAY!

Nice to see ya in the 12's . And yeah , GM definately skimped on the SS axles . As fast as u are I would seriously consider forking over the $800 for the driveshaft shop axles .

I love the trend.....

Track....*snap*......Chevy.....track.....*snap*... .chevy

lol...You may want to consider the upgrade in axles. I know if I had the potential to run a 12.9, i'd buy the strongest axles on the market just to prepare for 11s. hehe

I am currently savin the money up for the axles. its hard because I am a full time college student having to pay for school, books, gas, insurance and everything myself. But yes the Clutch has already been upgraded it is a SPEC Stage 3 with the lightened Aluminum Flywheel. It works great.

I was sponsored by Sport Compact Pro but am currently looking for new sponsors!!! hehe so anyone want to jump on sponsoring my car?

but way to run 12.9 and break stuff. at least we know 12's are doable.

I all poly mounts and the strut bar. I was on stock pirellis so my launch method was easy. 1500 out of the hole... my last run i decided to do a 2000 launch and wheel hopped and snapped the driver axle in half so that ended the day...

Good runs and times, but sorry about the axles. Beaking the axles sucks, as my first attempt at the track ended with a snapped one.

That is a great 1/8 mile trap but a little lower than I would expect for 1/4 mile trap. Is your car pulling timing up in high rpms?

Wow, that's pretty impressive for stock tires! I'm from Wheaton too, next time I'm in town we'll have to see if we can meet up, I want to see this 12-sec beast!

Seriously if you were to think about it would you say the "SNAP" is related to hop? you maybe able to go with a better setup with tires and get better times.

find 17x9 rims and get 245/45r17 Nitto 555's. You will be able to launch harder improve 60 foot and get a over all better time. the change in tire will reduce your wheel hop.
