I know I know another one of these threads, but Im a noob and just want CSS.nets thought on new pads and rotors.

Ive heard alot of good about R1 Concepts so im going to go with there Rotors

Power Slot Rotors
Cobalt & Ion ---> ZZ Performance

I've had really good luck with these Power Slot Rotors on the front along with these Brake pads at this web address:

They stop extremely well (big difference from stock) not to mention they don't hardly leave much break dust build up on your wheels as the stock setup does. Had them for almost 2 years now with no problems. Just a suggestion.

I do a lot of business with ZZP and I know they are a good vendor as well.

I can understand that and I checked out the brake setup you were looking at and they might work just as good as the set I have. Sometimes price makes no difference. Every once in a while you can find a quality product at a much lower price. Heck try them out and let everyone else know what you think of them. I know since they are slotted you will have less trouble with brake dust building up on your rims. I suggest that you get a set of ceramic pads and you will have much better stopping power, no obnoxious noises and you won't have any of the problems like most people have had with the stock rotors and pads. Ceramic pads aren't usually more than like 30-40 dollars a pair.

 

Well.. I ended up ordering them.
Local shop quoted me $70 an hour to install
So ill keep everyone posted on how it goes

dont pay someone to put those on you could do it yourself! its very simple

 

Brake are not something to mess around with. If he doesn't feel comfortable tackling it himself, or doesn't have the necessary tools or place to do it, then he's doing the right thing by having the shop do it.

All too often I see people claim how "easy" it is to service their car, only to watch them do the job completely wrong and jeopardize their own safety as well as everyone else's on the road.

 

Then again if he's unsure of how to do it correctly he can always find a local Cobalt owner that does. Most people are willing to help. I have helped a number of people before. Once someone teaches you how to perform tasks, you have been given the knowledge to become more independent and lessen chances of getting ripped off by mechanics.

 

If anyone can be interested, I have brand new rotors (drilled and dimpled) and pads for sale
