Brake's squeek
Brake's squeek
I've had my front Brembos and rear calipers powdercoated, and I've installed at the same time the R1 premium slotted/drilled with Hawk HP+ and ZZP brake lines, and right after that, my car always squeeks worse than a bus every single time I brake (my girlfriend can hear it loud from inside the house with the windows closed)! My mechanic couldn't figure out why, but I know that he probably didn't look well, maybe he just took off the pads to check them, but he didn't find out the reason. It may have something to do with the calipers powdercoated? What should I tell the mechanic to look for? Anyone had this problem?

It says "Due to high friction levels this product may produce increased rotor wear and Brake noise when used for street driving". Damn, I didn't think of reading that. So I'm the only one in here with the HP+?
been runnin HP+ on my DD for a few years now.
just gotta deal with the noise.
I got **** from all my buddies(nsrt4 and tsi owners) until they rode in my car and I did light braking and it bout put them thru the windshield. They dont talk **** no more since they saw me brake at night

its the pads. there is a ton of metal in them...
try the hawk blue or black, its worse
Are you super easy when braking? The more you drive 'normal' they worse they are.
After a while you get the feel to minimize the noise but I dont really notice it anymore; my car squeaks, vibrates, backfires, shoots flames; just under normal driving. Gotta deal with losing some comfort when getting into performance ****. it sucks

Actually the first 4 or 5 times that I brake they are fine, after they start squeek. Which pads would you guys recommend? Should I go back to the Ferodo or get something else?
Thats about exactly how long it takes for mine to squeak; nothing wrong.
Personally I always recommend the hp+. Have you done any driving where you need good brakes?
I backroad just about every weekend and I drive in the st. louis area, so I need good braking with all the shitty drivers. HP+ have saved my car from being hit(none my fault) 6 times in the last year.

i have the same issue all i can tell you if u grease the back of the pads and used the metal plate that the factory pads come with and grease that too it helps reduce the noise some days it does it others it don't . great pads tho just wish they didn't sound like a dieing pig when i come to a slow stop
Like others have said the noise is from the pads. If you don't get them really hot (race temp) then HP+'s are loud. With Brembo's its been proven that stock pads are just fine for tracking and if you want pads for just tracking then you will need some Carbotech XR1's. Also if you are going to track your car with those drilled rotors have fun connecting the dots. When you get those rotors hot they will start to crack between holes.

Here is the problem. Your not going to find a track pad thats going to be quiet and its not a good idea to drive around on the street with track pads. HP+ is as far as one should go with aggressive pads on the street. I am telling you get the stock pads for your brembo's and you will have your quiet brakes and stopping power needed to for the track. The stock pads are made by Ferodo.
I was thinking the same. Just feel bad to buy the same pads again, I don't even know where my stock ones are, but anyway they had 25k miles on and they were installed with the stock rotors, I wasn't going to put them back.
Just get some new ones from Tom. Stock pads are going to be your best option.
