Broken axel Help please!!
OK so i went to the track today,my mods are in my signiture and my first time at the track my very first run i launch my car and break my driver side axel! So my question is will the warranty cover this obviously saying it broke under normal driving conditions. My car is a 07 ss/sc with 34500 miles i have had it for two years and also baught a extended warranty so what are my options here on what to do or say or what not?
Yup I snaped mine in a parking lot and said it just broke. They fixed it no problem but I have only 16,000 miles on my car at the time I had maybe 11,000 or so. You can also just get ott stage 1 axles good for 325 whp and are only 225 for both axles.
If you have an extended warranty through another provider (Not GM), have it towed to a local shop and pay the deductible if you have one. Usually if the factory warranty gets voided, the extended warranty is still good.
like someone already said, hope u didnt get it towed from the strip to the dealer. I brought my brand new 370z to the the track with 1600km on it...was talking to few of the staff and they told me the same thing "if something goes wrong with the car and you need to be towed, push it away from the track and clean the numbers off the windows so the dealership wont know you were racing"
my theory is that if the car breaks at the track. take it out of your pocket.
on the road.. depending on what you were doing at the time GM should cover it under warrenty..
if its the fact you dont know how to change one out im going to do a full how to video tomorrow on how to change a axle.. it only take 15 mins max.
**** GM, they should go out of business, horrible company they recently fucked me out of $2,000 because they couldn't replace a tensioner properly, and to cover there ass, they voided my warranty saying i have a tune, i have GM stage 2
So **** them.
So **** them.
Stage 2 isn't technically covered under warranty.
yep exactly.
to be honest its not that hard and does not cost that much to fix a car.. i mean my god basically everything youll ever need you can find on here.. and if you cant replace that on your own you probably shouldnt be working on cars at all..
