broken cv shaft.

hey how often have any of you guys broken a cv shaft. i broke mine wedensday. it broke right where the shaft meets the gears at the tire.

no it is just a g5 with a 5 speed

yes, that is it. Don't do either if you don't want to keep replacing cv joints. I knew exactly what the problem was before I asked, but wanted to give the benefit of the doubt. The problem is wheel hop, and/or putting too much strain by dropping the clutch.

he proves this every day at school when he's in the parking lot before and after lunch... : case in point its snowing and has no tires left on it and just had the cv shaft replaced... lose lose situation

He keeps complaining about breaking stuff. Now he says his tranny is whining and I told him if he stops blowing it, it will stop whining and leave.

But the thing is, you don't know how to treat your car. You act like it's fast when it has a little 2.4 and you hot rod it around. You act like it's a corvette and nobody thinks your cool. If you keep hot rodding it it's going to keep breaking.
