can anyone verify what this is from?
This is what the guy selling it has listed.
I think that this may be a shifter for a Chevy Cobalt SS/SC or Saturn SS/TC. I acquired it at an auction, so I don't know for sure.
markings: none...
shaft: chrome plated steel...knob is satin finished alloy w/alloy lock out assy....
Shaft measurements:
* it is bowed 3/8"...
* length is 9 3/8"...(w/o knob)
* shaft dia. is 0.467"
* threads read 0.471" & are 3/4" in length...
* 3 7/8" down from top of threads is a shoulder (A) that an o-ring is up against...
* reverse lock out roll pin is 1 1/16" from shoulder (A)
* roll pin slot in shift knob handle is 3/16" x 9/16"
* center of formed lock out arm center is 1/2" from center of slot...
* bottom of lock out arm is 1 1/4" from bottom of slot...
* lock out arm is fastened to bottom of lockout assy. w/3 tinyPhillips screws...
* chrome sphere (B) is 1 5/8" below shoulder (A)
* sphere (B) is 0.560" dia...has a 3/16" hole on side w/allen set screw inside it...
* a 3/4" tapered shaft is on opposing side from set screw...has a 0.395" ball on end of shaft...nylon bushing fits on this...about 1 1/8" w/bushing on shaft...
* @ shaft immediately below sphere (B) it measures 0.543" x 1/8"...tapering down to 0.479" @ the top of the bottom o-ring ... tapers down to 0.473 below o-ring for another 5/8"...where it really tapers down to a 0.395" dia. ball (flat surface on very bottom of ball)
Satin finished alloy shift knob & reverse lock:
* knob measures 1.973"(W) x 2" (L)...has a removable cab that is held in place with an o-ring (no o-ring)
* reverse lockout assembly is alloy except for the formed arm @ bottom of slider..

if i had a part number, i would of done that already, as in the post under the pictures it shows markings as none, thats why i was seeing if anyone could maybe identify it as a certain brand of a sts, by seeing it.

your guess is as good as mine to if its a sts or not. i was just curious if anyone could identify it, but who in their right mind would bid on an item without knowing what it really was for , thats just people with money and no brains, or just no brains.
