I have one for my 79 firebird, works like a dream, it gives your leg a workout but it stands up to 420TQ easily. I've burned the crap out of it before and it is still yet to quit on me. I would recommend them.
The centerforce dual friction is a good clutch IF they offer it for the SS/SC. The only thing I would caution you about, is that the CM is a good clutch for grip and wear also. They are having issues getting the combination fine tuned and unfortunately, there are a dozen or so of us that have bought it. Fortunately for CM, no more than about a half dozen have installed it. As of today, there is one confirmed good fitment of the FX400 and when monday rolls around, I am going to fit the latest and greatest in mine (FX300). Personally, if they had to have a problem, I am glad it was them, cause they have bent over backwards to do the right thing for us. And lets be clear, they have not had TONS of problems, they have had two related issues that have affected 5 vehicles that I am aware of. Lets save our vendor bashing for the guy who tells us to take a long walk down a short pier.
I talked to Centerforce the other day and they told me it would be several months before a clutch for the SS/SC is out, and they told me that they only plan on making a quality replacement as of right now, and not anything that could handle more than 270ft/lb. I also spoke with someone at Exxedy and they plan on getting us a clutch out here in a few months, they have already made some of them but sold all of them to GM Performance Division.
