Clunking noise when shifting up.

I have a 2010 SS/TC with 37xxx miles on it, when I'm driving most of the time when I shift up there is a clunking noise sometimes it's when going into gear while the clutch is engaged and also does it when I disengage the clutch when it's in gear. I have done some research and I found a thread on here that says the clunking is normal but doesn't explain what it is making that clunking noise. So if anyone knows what exactly it is that's making that clunking noise or knows if there's away to stop it id appreciate it. I thought I would just get used to it but it's actually just getting more annoying, again any information will help. Thank you.
