Clutch issues... fix for Clutchmasters FX300 in sight?
Well, the dealership said my problem was the the slave cylinder even know it was replaced when the new clutch was installed. Now they are saying I have problem with the new Clutchmasters FX300 clutch itself. They said "it's too big." I have no idea what they are talking about now, but I'm about to find out. The clutch was the right one and it installed fine, so I'll keep you guys posted on what the problem is. Grrr.....

I went to the dealership, and the pressure plate of my FX300 clutch was rubbing on the transmission bellhousing. There is not paint left on the pressure plate, and a small 2-3mm groove on the belhousing. Luckily the transmission is fine! I got in touch with Clutchmasters, and they are going to get back to me within the hour. I probably got sent the wrong pressure plate in the correctly labeled box! Grrr...why is my luck always so bad? I'll keep everyone posted.
I better not have to pay for this because they didn't fix the problem in the first place which led to this whole ordeal. The only thing I'll pay for is to have the flywheel re-finished again to start off fresh!

^^^^ It seems Clutchmasters has sold 35-40 untis already, and I am the only one with this issue thus far. I hate being the first to have problems with a part. Well, it's good for you guys though to see if something works on my car before you go ahead and install it on your car. This definately explains the squeal and hard shifting though!

Clutchmasters called back and they want more pictures. They stated something about they are going to try and shim a slave cylinder and modify the new pressure plate, and then send that to me. I definately don't like the sound of that. Is it me or is this just completely screwed up? The pressure plate should have fit period! I don't want a jerry-rigged pressure plate and slave cylinder, I just want my crap to fit and work properly!

I hope it turns around soon too!
Does anyone have pictures of their CM pressure plates before they installed them or if you have one and it isn't installed yet? I'm sort of curious about something.

Jekyl, can you measure the distance from the bottom of the pressure plate where it sits on the flywheel to the highest part of the flywheel before you have it installed? This is important to me. Also, do you have the G85 package. Thanks!

I got mine too just the other day now I am worried about installing this, gonna compare it to a spec unit I have and see how much difference there is.
OK< GREAT there is a MEASUREABLE difference between the 2 about 1/16-1/8 inch TALLER....take a look!

Thanks, I'll send them as well. THis may help me out because that is just the amount of clearance I need.
Can you take pictures without the clutch plate in them on a hard flat surface? Sort of like they were just sitting flush with the flywheel once bolted down, and measure from the bottom of the plate to the top of it. I would really appreciate it!

I measured the difference between the stock pressure plate and Clutchmasters one and there is approximately 1/4" difference between the two. The pressure plate is a different design to create more clamping force, so it will be different. My inner casting could be off too causing a lack of clearance, or I could have an oddball pressure plate that slipped through the cracks by accident. I'll get it figured out one way or another.

Keep us informed. I was looking at getting the CM Stage 2 when mine finally gives out.
Or should I be looking at the Center Force clutch when it comes out. I have no clue when it comes clutches.
