I've made previous threads about a noise I get on decel. From 3rd-5th while letting the car cruise down in speed .. I beleive it's my clutch that's making the noise.. It's loud and annoying and sounds like crap.. What do u guys think?

 

Do you have upgraded clutch? Sounds like alot of chatter

 

Yea clutchmasters stage 3.. It made noise from day one but not nearly that loud.. What do u guys think ?

Could be your TOB going bad. Did you use stock TOB when you changed the clutch? Also what's the weather like? If it's colder, it will chatter more..

 

My noise is similar. ACT GM11-HDSS kit. Some sort of growl. Read it was normal with these aftermarket clutch kits. I'm using an LNF TOB now, but can't recall if it ever did it with this kit and a LSJ TOB.

 

tob is new with the trans.... it is colder out.. it did get louder since its winter... was thinking about getting a different clutch cause the noise is so annoying

 

Honestly you will have chatter with just about every aftermarket clutch. I have my Spec Stage3+ and don't have much chatter. I had the KY Stage3 and had tons. Guess it's just kinda a toss up man...

 

It's clutches without spring loaded center sections that make this chatter.. It sucks it's terrible lol.

 

My noise is different but nearly every aftermarket clutch makes decel noise on these cars

 

Could be the clutch - my stock clutch does this but it's not nearly as noisy. 80k

 

Troof! I have very minor chatter on decel after downshifting, its pretty much common on all upgraded heavier duty clutches, I love my SPEC 3+, But one thing thats super annoying is how much noise my TOB makes while in nuetral at idle and yes I put a brand new LNF TOB in when I switched Clutches, Its not as bad when I release the clutch pedal slowly, Been doing it forever but dosent affect performance.

 

I get chatter with my bone stock clutch. I think its pretty normal. 86k here. It does slip from time to time (completely at random tho)

It sounds similar but WAY quiet on my car.

 

My Spec stage 3 chatters in first only starting out sometimes but I go right into 2nd with my 4.45

 

Yea I was thinking about throwing a new stocker in there or gmpp.. ..The noise is super annoying

This noise has been driving me crazy too. I guess its part of the game though. Stronger clutch makes more noise.

I have had 2 Ky stage 3 clutches, both have made this noise. NO ONE would buy a car that makes this noise imo. I hate the engagement of the ky stage 3 as well, I cant figure out how to launch the car. The car bogs if under 2k rpm, but above 2200 it spins with the zfr
