Clutch problems?

I own an 06 ss/sc with 77,000kms and I've noticed over the last month wierd driving behaviors expecially when the car is cold it seems to jerk when trying to shift from 1-2 and usually 2-3 at around 3000Rpm and when I drive it hard the shifts just feel overall rough. could this be a problem with regular wear on the clutch? or some thing diffrent.

What is a good way to check the clutchs in these cars and what are some obvious signs of clutchs slipping

Thanks in advance for the help.

Idk how to check it for wear without taking it out, but if it starts slipping out of gear that's a good sign it's going. As far as if it's jerky idk. If you just recently got the car then it could e why they sold it lol. But honestly man, get it to like 55-65 in fith and floor it like u were gonna pass someone if it pops out it's going (might help to be in a shallow curve that's how I found out abt mine) if that happens just replace gmpp has an upgraded one that should wok good for you. The stocker is only rated to like 200hp (why it's rated in hp idk, GM thought it would be cool I guess) and with a full stage two kit you past the limits of the clutch. However some people have them hold on forever, some don't (you probably) but to sum up the gmpp clutch is relativly cheap and reliable and comfy for driving if u don't mind some stiffer pedal and more cost the spec stage 2+ has worked good for me thus far (only abt 6-700 miles on it tho) hope I helped.

Ya man good luck! You could always burn it out lol. But then they might not cover it.... Good luck tho! The gmpp clutch SHOULDNT void warrenty. I think it's only like ~400? not sure I ordered one through a buddy at a dealership and "got a deal" on it for 300. He then skipped town with my money lmao

Ya if im not careful or just leave right quick mine will jerk real bad from 1-2. I can't see this being normal never noticed it 6 months ago when I bought the car.... If it is normal ill be shocked.

Mine also does that from 1-2 and not very often from 2-3. After its warmed up it shifts smoothly though. (104k km)

to check if your clutch is starting to slip if its old or whatev, all you have to do is go for a drive. put the car in 5th gear at low rpms, like 2000 or so, then floor it. it the rpms jerk up a little and it doesnt feel right, the clutch is slipping. if the rpms, steadily go up slow, then your clutch is fine.

you could also try another trick, it worked with my civic si, idk if it will work on cobalts tho. from a dead stop, put your car into 3rd gear. now let off the clutch without giving it gas. if you dont stall, your clutch is probably slipping a little bit. i do not know if that one works on cobalts tho since they have more torque. the thing i said earlier should work just fine.

Floor it in 2nd at 8mph. Then you'll know if it's shot or not.
