clutch question

From a stop I can slowly release the clutch and not give it any gas and it will proceed to take off and coast at a slow rate of speed then i can give it gas from there and drive on is this normal? if i let off to fast it will die but if i do it relatively slowly i can take off with no gas given?

The pcm will do everything it can to keep the revs from dropping below idle, same as any fuel injected computer controlled car.
As long as you are not taking too long to get the clutch out (slipping and heating up) it's no big deal.
