some 05 cobalts but mostly 06's.........i know that every car can/will have problems and i really like my cobalt as a car. it's just the service problems that have made me fed up. i just got off the phone with 2 gm dealers and was told that if i put an exedy or any aftermarket clutch into the vehicle and something goes wrong with the transmission or engine they won't cover it under warranty. i also know that while it's easy to say if that is the case go to another dealer but if something goes wrong i don't want to have to drive 50 - hundred's of miles out of the way to get the problem taken care of. i also don't want to have the hassle of lawyers etc for something as petty as that. going to law school i see that as ridiculous and in most cases it would just go to small claims court and i'd still lose money to have the problem fixed. its just that every problem i have had with this vehicle has been to the dealer 3-4 times and is still not fixed. granted until the clutch it was all small annoying problems but still 3 times and still counting for the shift knob, the cruise control, a trim molding. my chrome wheels are peeling and have been since about 7k but again not under warranty. i also guess that i'm still old fashioned and think that the best/worst advertising can come from word of mouth. so if gm won't stand behind there cars and i can save one person the hassel i have had it will be worth it. at the same time if i can help anyone with anything about the car based on experience as a service writer or just knowledge i would too. i also think its ridiculous to come here to the forum to just vent and document a clutch problem that maybe someone else is experiencing and automatically get flamed that you can't drive stick or it must be driver error ( i see that as the same dumb logic that most of my tech's had diagnosing a car before they even looked at it.) a perfect story to that is that i had 2 tech's that would automatically recommend a fuel pump, drain the gas tank and replace lines etc, whenever a gm car came in that didn't start and they would always say it was bad gasoline in the engine. 8-9 times it ended being the battery and after they installed the pump they would then blame the customer for killing the battery too, all when the problem should have been a battery covered under the warranty.
