Ok so after installing my performance parts (exhaust and intake) i took it easy on my car not to beat on it. so today weather is nice and cool 32 degrees and i decide to get on it. i lauch from the light at like 2500 no slippage i was thinking o yes my clutch will hold up. not true i then procede to shift into second at like 6500 and when i came off the clutch i got some wheel spin proceded by clutch slippage. rpms went sky high car went no where and bogged down a little. does the same thing in 3rd as well. so i guess im next on the list for a spec or clutchmasters clutch. THIS SUX lol. sorry for my rant i just thought that after my lauch all was well.
I've got the exact same problem! There are dozens of people that have this problem. GM fucked use with a weak clutch! I had a an 01 Z24 Supercharged with ton of bolt ons that dynoed 214whp with 212tq(80whp 60tq over stock) and that clutch held just fine.
no my tires will catch and then the car still over revs. it really sucks i thought it was just the tires smoking too then i did it again with the windows open and they had traction.
I have been running my intense stage 3 for about three days now and I had my Injen Cai and Magnaflow catback for a couple weeks before that. My clutch is holding up perfect (knocking on wood)
For all you guys with percieved clutch problems, You should take pictures of the OEM clutch at the time you are swapping it with the stage II... I've seen what bad clutches look like, but I've NEVER had a clutch or transmission problem with any of my cars.

Well, if a clutch is slipping, and clutch for that matter, its going to look burned up, cobalts might have some sort of irregular ware rate though. Dunno. I'm not swapping more for a few months, i'm waiting for centerforce's clutch.

For all you guys talking about slippage and adding more power.....I would replace the clutch ASAP. Nothing like getting on it a little and having the thing explode 250 miles from home. (Not that mine did or anything.......) Seeing the stock clutch lasting 1200-4500 miles with moderate power addition before it shatters into pieces means the stock one will fail long before a clutch even in a stock car should.

I think there are some people who expirence wheel spin, or lost traction and blame it on the clutch... or they beat on it and say it's no good... keep in mind most people arent going to admit THEY are at fault because their clutch failed.

my excuse would be the fact that the pressure plate is a piece of ****, the clutch is fine, the pressure plate is fucked up, and if i was abusing the car, i gaurantee the clucth would've been gone long before this problem.
but you are correct, not one single person that has a problem with their clutch knows how to drive a stick. not a single one of them
one question, why did you list a 75wet shot and a 100 dry shot on your sig?
i have been driving stick for 3 years now so id hope i know how to do it. ive driven cobras gts z28s ss and sum vettes a cts and this is the first car that has given me problems like this with the clutch.

How many of you deal with installing and tuning nitrous in a variety of vehicles on a daily basis? And more to the point...how many of you watched The Fast and the Furious? Nitrous is a lot less harmful than people think, get a clue. ESPECIALLY on forced induction engines where the colder air charge is a HUGE benefit. I'm not about to argue with people on a less experienced level with this thing. Point is, the stock clutch isn't made to handle much more power than the stock output and it appears that it barely handles the stock level. Nonetheless, it is considered a wear item like brakes and light bulbs and no matter how many lawsuits and defect notices are pulled there are going to be no paid replacements. It has been attempted WAY too many times in the past with similar problems. Now maybe if camshafts were snapping in half on stock motors after 15,000 miles, then we would have a case. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's a dream at best. Just do one of two things: Satisfy your right foot and buy a stronger replacement or drive the car normally like a vehicle should be driven. There are vehicles making twice the power of or cars that don't get beat on 1/10 as hard or as many times as ours do.
