but then again... the pressure plate is what is causing my problems, you need to file a complaint with:
http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/
even though you are running that crazy amount of juice through it, please file a complaint... we need to get everyone to file a complaint that has any issues, so they can investigate it, to see if there is a defect in the pressure plates they are using. There's something wrong with them, and with enough complaints they should be able to track the problems down and see if they are coming form a specific batch of clutch/pressure plates or what is going on

from the other forums and pm's i've got from various people, there have been 16 people including myself. and those are only the ones i know of... i'm sure they'll blow it off for a little bit claiming it's people not knowing how to drive, but once people start explaining it's probably not the clutch itself, and more of an issue with a weak pressure plate then they should start looking into it
Ok Im going to give you guys some info that will make alot of sens if you take the time to read it carefully.
I read averything I could find on this car befor I bout it. I read the revews of it befor it was even out! And have been following every thing I could find to read on the car ever sins.
Here is somethings the I have found that I dont like.
1 Every, and I mean EVERY mag that did a revew of the car befor it went on sale complained about the grabie clutch. Check out the video on this site and they even say it in that vid. (It was shot with a preproduction 05 by that way)
Now after the car came out not one, NOT ONE, mag or show that revewed it said a thing abuot the clutch being grabie at all!
2 Stage 3 was caned do to the clutch saying buy buy!
3 Gm is in the **** right now and needs cash. This car has a vary hard to replace (And expensive) Clutch and replaceing even 250 a year is more green for them.
4 Check on the vett forums. They have been having problems with the new C6 clutches to.
I think GM is skimping on them becouse they dont have to fix them under warrenty, and the press complaind to much about the clutch so they toned it down a bit.
My 2.2L cavy was making about 165hp and I beat the **** out of that clutch and never had any problems. 108K befor a blown seal killed my clutch. It looked fine uther then being socked in oil.
No mater what we do they will never admit there is a problem and not enuff of them fail to get it looked in to.
Hopefully my clutch will last me long enuff that some good replacments will be out by the time I need a new one.

Yeah but if you think of it this way, too many people have this illusion that the clutch obviously sucks when in fact it really doesn't.
1. GM is releasing Stage kits that put out as much as 40whp more then stock. No mention of replacing clutch.
2. My clutch is perfectly fine and havent ran into an issue yet with it and I am just as hard as anyone else, perhaps you should be looking at the transmission at fault for not allowing power to be delivered sooner.. it does have the tendency to skip a beat and has had problems (I can think of a few members I hang with) that have more trans issues then clutch problems. More people are putting power adders on and no issues. I believe this has to do with perhaps
a. shitty driver
b. driving car too hard
c. performance book states 300whp + before stock clutch can't handle power but people want to replace it anyways.
d. all of the above.
No one complained about this until they were starting to push semi serious power thru the front wheels expecting that the car can push faster without a hitch. For all of those Cavailer owners who own 03-05 ecotecs' with a 5 speed, your using the same clutch on a different trans, hate to break it to you. So now what? The clutch sucks just because you switched platforms? Unlikely
, Sabb's use the same clutch too, you don't see them bitching and most of them are turbo charged. (double checked by dealer).
Enough with rant.

i agree with you, when i read the post about clutch slipping after the intake and exhaust i was like there has to be more to the story than this.... so what i have an exhaust now, so when i put my intake on my clutch all of a sudden will start slippin, i dont buy it.
no clutch problems here with agressive and normal driving.

Just wanna throw this out there: that in stock car racing, at least here in Canada, they just use a plain ol stock clutch disc, they have a fair amount of HP and they arent ripping the cars apart after every race to put in a new clutch. Just a thought.
